How to get on the GTA V server
Set it up once and a double click gets you in from then on. The two places where almost everyone gets stuck are marked in red — read those two boxes and you will not need support.
Looking for Minecraft? That one needs no setup — address and version are posted on Discord before each event.
Join the Discord Required
Start here. Without Discord you are not part of it — that is where the dates are posted, where the start is announced, where teams are sorted and where support happens. If you are not in, you simply will not know when a round goes live.
- Join the server using the button below.
- Read and accept the rules. The event channels only unlock afterwards.
- Follow the announcements channel so you get pinged when a round starts.
- Use the same name you will use in game. It saves everyone guessing when teams get sorted.
What you need
The preparation. Without these, nothing else works.
- A Windows PC. Windows 10 or 11. FiveM does not run on Mac, on console, or on Linux (Steam Deck only with heavy tinkering — we do not support it).
- Grand Theft Auto V, legally owned. Steam, Epic Games or the Rockstar Games Launcher, any of them is fine. Pirated copies do not work; FiveM checks.
- About 120 GB of free disk space. GTA V itself takes most of that, and FiveM keeps its own cache on top.
You do not need GTA Online.
FiveM is its own multiplayer and runs completely separately from GTA Online. Your online character, money and stats stay untouched — and nothing here can affect them.
Install GTA V Legacy
Since 2025 there are two versions of GTA V: Legacy, the classic build, and Enhanced, the new one. This server runs on Legacy. If you only have Enhanced installed, you cannot get in.
Download GTA V Legacy — not GTA V Enhanced.
This is mistake number one. The two are named almost identically, install into separate folders and launch separately. Enhanced is useless for us, even if you already have it installed.

Launch GTA V Legacy once normally before moving on.
Getting to the main menu is enough. That confirms the install is complete and that the launcher knows your account. Then close it again.
Download FiveM
FiveM is the free client that lets you join custom GTA servers. The download page shows two buttons side by side — and again it is Legacy, not Enhanced.
Download “FiveM” — not “FiveM for GTAV Enhanced”.
Mistake number two. The Enhanced client is a different application for the other build of the game. It cannot open this server, no matter what you configure.

Open the download pageGives you FiveM_Installer.exe, the client for the Enhanced build. It will not get you in here.
Install FiveM
Run the file you just downloaded and follow the installer. It sorts itself out.
Connect to the server
Launch FiveM, connect, done. Do not go looking for us in the server list — this server is deliberately not listed there. You get in by entering the address directly.
Server address
Copy the address exactly as posted on Discord.
Character for character. If it ends in :something, that belongs in there too — leaving it off sends you somewhere else entirely.
Option 1 — the console
- Start FiveM and wait until it has finished loading.
- Press F8 to open the console.
- Type connect <address> and hit Enter. That is it.
Option 2 — Direct Connect
- Click “Play” in FiveM, then “Direct Connect”.
- Paste the address into the field and confirm.
- Mark it as a favourite with the heart icon while you are there — then it is one click next time.
First connect — confirm your Discord
The very first time you connect, the server asks you to confirm your Discord account. This is what ties your Discord role to your game account, and it happens once — every connect after that goes straight through.
- The connection window shows a short address and an eight-character code. Leave the window open.
- Open that address in a browser — on this PC, a second screen or your phone — and type the code.
- Discord asks whether you want to authorise Live Stream Games. Press “Authorise”. Cancel it and you do not get in.
- The game continues by itself. You do not have to click anything in FiveM.
Make sure the right Discord account is logged in.
The browser confirms whichever account is signed in there — and that is the account your roles are read from. If you keep a second account for anything, check the name on the Discord page before you press “Authorise”. Picked the wrong one? See step 7, it is fixable.
We only ask for identify — your account name and id. No messages, no email, no access to your servers.
A queue is normal.
When an event starts, everyone connects at once. Leave the window open — you move up automatically and can see your position. Closing it means starting at the back again.
If something breaks
The cases support sees most often, with the fix for each.
I linked the wrong Discord account
Fixable, and you do not need anyone’s help for it. Connect again: because that account does not carry the role, the connection window tells you so and offers a fresh code right there.
Open the address, but sign out of Discord first — or use a private window — otherwise the browser hands over the same wrong account again. Then sign in with the right one and authorise. The new account replaces the old one.
Already in the game and just want to switch accounts? Type /str link in chat, follow the code, then reconnect.
One Discord account can only ever belong to one game account. If yours is already taken — for instance because you play on a second FiveM licence — ask the team on Discord to release it.
“You do not have the access role”
The server checked your Discord account and did not find the access role on it. Two causes, in this order:
You have not picked up the role yet — go back to step 1 and do that in Discord. The server notices within seconds; just connect again.
The wrong account is linked — see the entry above.
FiveM starts but GTA V never opens
Almost always the wrong game path. Check “Game path” in the FiveM settings and make sure it points at the Legacy installation, not Enhanced. Reset the path and pick again if needed.
Second cause: Steam or the Rockstar Launcher is not running. Start the launcher and sign in first.
“You must have GTA V installed” or similar
GTA V Legacy is not installed, or it has never been launched. Install the Legacy entry from your library and run it once up to the main menu — after that FiveM will find it.
I installed the wrong Enhanced version by mistake
There are two different things that can go wrong here, so check which one it was:
Wrong FiveM client — you used “Download FiveM for GTAV Enhanced” and ended up with FiveM_Installer.exe. Close it, go back to fivem.net and use “Download FiveM” instead (file name: FiveM.exe). Both clients can sit on the same PC — just launch the right one. See step 4.
Wrong game — you installed GTA V Enhanced instead of GTA V Legacy. Install the Legacy version from your library as well and launch it once. See step 3.
The connection drops while loading
Usually a broken cache. Close FiveM, open your FiveM folder, delete FiveM.app\data\cache and start again. The next connect downloads a clean copy.
The server is not in the list
Correct, and that is on purpose — this server does not appear in the public server browser. Searching for it is wasted effort. Connect with the address instead, as described in step 6.
“Failed to fetch server variables”
FiveM is talking to something that is not our server — almost always a typo in the address, or a stray :port that is not part of it. Copy the address from Discord again, character for character.
If it still happens, the server may simply be down between events. Ask in the support channel.
Tried everything, still nothing
Head to the support channel on Discord. Bring a screenshot of the error, which launcher you use (Steam, Epic, Rockstar) and which step you are stuck on. Usually sorted in five minutes.
